NHL 15 officially unveiled

12 player collision physics and real puck physics promised.

EA Sports have revealed the first details for NHL 15 today, the first game in the longrunning series to hit new-gen consoles. A list of bullet point buzz words have been listed on the official website as follows:

"12 player NHL Collision Physics" - claimed to be the first time in any sports game where real-time physics affects every player through every on-ice collision. We certainly look forward to some interesting pile ups with this.

"Real Puck Physics" - Built from scratch to recreate the unpredictable and predictable ways a puck behaves.

"Authentic Player & Equipment Models", "Authentic Arenas", and "Unprecedented Player Likeness" - Self-explanatory items.

"Superstar Skill Stick" - Evolved to give "even more control" to players this year.

"New Commentary Team" - NBC Sports' Mike 'Doc' Emrick and Eddie Olczyk will provide play-by-play. There will also be "NBC Sports Gameday Presentation" to give you that authentic broadcast feel.

"Living Crowd" - With "over 9,000 individual crowd models with 4x the animations of previous generations" you might be convinced to take your eyes off the ice at times.

"Vision AI" - Perhaps the most interesting gameplay tweak (judging by what we can take away from these texts) is the new player AI that features "evolved awareness with players reading and reacting to potential plays". This will include "scoring area recognition, pass anticipation, and enhanced team breakouts all improve the flow of the game". Interesting.

We expect NHL 15 to see release in September (as per usual) though the trailer says "fall 2014" for now. It's coming to PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
