Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning Part Two is getting a bit of a name change. Hopefully one that's less of a mouthful. It also looks like the release date for the movie is getting pushed back as well.
At least that's according to Aaron Couch, film editor at The Hollywood Reporter. Couch tweeted that the movie had been delayed a year, and now will be landing on the 23rd of May, 2025. If this wasn't bad enough for Mission: Impossible fans, Couch then also stated that "Dead Reckoning 2 is no longer expected to be the title of the next Mission movie."
It's possible that the delay has caused studio executives to rethink the title of what will most likely be Ethan Hunt's final outing. If people are going to have to wait an extra year, having the film wear a Part 2 label might push away those who haven't seen or can't remember Part 1.
Why do you think the film could change names?
