Many had hoped that Metroit Prime 4 would finally make it's way to Nintendo Switch this year despite all the secrecy and not being developed by Retro Studios. Well, we have good news and bad news.

The bad news is that Shinya Takahashi, Senior Managing Executive Officer at Nintendo, has stepped in front of the camera to announce that the development of Metroid Prime 4 hasn't lived up to the quality of both their and our expectations. That's why they've decided to restart development from scratch, which means that you can delete the game from your "Most anticipated game for 2019" list and probably a few years past that.

Fortunately, there's some really good news in there, as the team that has been tasked with taking over the project is none other than the series' creators - Retro Studios. Fabulous news in our book, so we're not as sad about this announcement as we could have been.

How about you?
