LucasArts axes 85 staff

Ex-dev describes cuts as "massacre"
Steve Hogarty 2 September 2010

LucasArts have confirmed that after cutbacks to their internal development studios they'll be losing an estimated 85 members of staff. One former employee, according to Kotaku, described the cuts as a "massacre".

"LucasArts is reorganizing its teams to better address the needs of the internal studio. Unfortunately, this means adjusting staffing," claims the Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II developer. "LucasArts continues to be committed to creating a first-class internal studio - and to fostering relationships with trusted external partners - in order to deliver quality games that amaze and inspire fans."

Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II is still set for a September release.
