It's been three weeks since we got some more information about the long rumoured "Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle" game, but that was only the start, as Comicbook and Nintendo World Report have decided to publish the leaked documents Kotaku didn't want to share earlier this month, which definitely spill the beans about this new game.
Not only do they show how the eight characters we'll get to play as will look, but also gives us a few other interesting tidbits. The documents claim that the game will consist of approximately 35% exploration and 65% combat, and that said combat will be weapon-based, as most characters are shown wielding some kind of laser or plasma rifle. It'll also be possible to play with a friend in local co-op, so be prepared to fight over who gets to choose between Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, and the four Rabbids dressed up as them first.
That's not the only thing differentiating it from other Mario RPGs, as the game will also consist of four "twisted Mario worlds filled with easter eggs". We're guessing the word "twisted" means that they've mixed in some Rabbids influences and crazy humour, as reflected by the character descriptions. These worlds seem to be quite large, as Ubisoft claims it'll take around 20 hours to complete the game.
As the game's marketing timeline says, the game's supposed to be revealed during E3 next month, so it'll be interesting to see if Nintendo and Ubisoft will tweak their plans after these massive leaks. Either way, now we have some extra time to save up for the game's release in August or September.
Is this sounding like a fun concept so far?
(PS: We just have to thank Ubisoft and Nintendo for using Gamereactor as an example in their timeline overview.)
