As a lot of corporations and employees adopt AI as part of their daily work, JPMorgan CEO Jamie Dimon is leading a new industry group designed to assess the potential risks of the technology, before they can become prevalent in a workplace.

As per Reuters, Dimon has reached out personally to other CEOs in the US, as well as regional banks, IT companies, and more to get them involved in his initiative, called the Alliance for Critical Infrastructure. More than 40 companies are already involved in the initiative across financial services, energy, water, utilities, airlines, railroads, and more.

Dimon is one of a few major US-based CEOs who has warned of the risks of AI. As big tech urges people to use AI more regularly, Dimon wants there to be an understanding of how AI is used, and the safeguards it needs in order to be a companion in the workplace with as little risk as possible. The ACI is set to speak with the government about AI, giving and taking advice from the White House, according to Dimon.

"At a time of growing cyber threats, protecting the systems Americans rely on every day requires strong collaboration between government and critical infrastructure companies," said the ACI in a statement. The plan is to have the revamped ACI, branching off from the original JPMorgan version, fully functional by the end of the year.
