Oculus VR's Palmer Luckey came on stage at The Game Awards to announce Rock Band VR - a collaboration between his company and music game veterans Harmonix. As you can see in this humourous (?) video below starring Luckey, Harmonix's Alex Rigopoulos, and DragonForce this is a fairly ambitious project. Obviously the main selling point is the idea of actually being on stage yourself, a bit like the career mode in Guitar Hero Live, but without the live action video stuff.
Luckey did not announce a release date for Oculus Rift at the show, but did reiterate the promise of a Q1 launch and that experiences such as Rock Band VR will be available from day one.
