Grand Theft Auto V is not only a hugely successful game, but is consistently a great seller for Rockstar and Take-Two Interactive, earning regular places on the top 10 charts here in the UK, and now Take-Two's earnings report has revealed just how many copies the game has sold, and it's a sizeable figure.
The open world game has now surpassed 85 million units sold which, according to The NPD Group, now puts it as the best-selling game of all time, both in terms of units and revenue, based on combined US physical and digital sales across all platforms.
As reported by GameSpot, this means it has surpassed another goliath game in terms of sales, Wii Sports, which sold over 82 million units.
What with these consistent appearances in the charts and the importance of microtransactions revealed in the same report, we can't imagine GTA V will slow down any time soon, which is all the more astounding considering the game was first released back in September 2013, over four years ago.
Is it deserving of its mammoth sales figures?
