Ubisoft waited until the very last minute to tell us that Ghost Recon: Wildlands' multiplayer mode wouldn't be ready by launch, but that it would come as a free update later this year, and now it's time to get some more details about it.
The mode is called Ghost War and pits two groups of four players against each other in wide open maps. You might want to find teammates that you can cooperate with, though, as tactics are still a big focus. Each player will get to choose from a wide variety of different classes, each with their own weapons, gadgets, and specialities, and as each match might take you to different kinds of environments, weathers, and times of day, you'll probably want to have different kinds of loadouts in your team.
That's not the only tactical aspect either, as Ubisoft Paris has implemented two new systems. The first is a new suppression system that affects your vision while you're under heavy fire, and the second is a new system that gives a visual representation of where shots are coming from - two features that sound interesting on paper. We'll get to see if they work in action when the beta launches later this summer, and when the official launch comes this autumn, but for now we'll have to make do with these details and the developer diary below.
Is this what you wanted from the multiplayer mode?
