Ubisoft has really tried their luck with taking their popular franchises to other kinds of entertainment media the last few years. We've seen comics, novels, animated shorts, and more. Now it's Ghost Recon's turn to try something new.

Ubisoft has announced a live-action short film called The War Within the Cartel. This 30-minute film is set in the world of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, and will function as a kind of prequel. The story will focus on the Santa Blanca drug cartel and has been produced by Roberto Orci (known for the Star Trek reboots,The Amazing Spider-Man 2, and more). Avi Youabian (known for working on twelve The Walking Dead episodes) is the director, while rapper/actor T.I. will play the main character.

The film will debut on Twitch February 16, and be available on Amazon Prime the next day.
