Tonight during the Ubisoft E3 press conference, a load of new gameplay, was shown off, and crucially a release date was revealed for Ghost Recon: Wildlands.

We got to see a new CG trailer, which gave us a taste of the drug-based warfare we'll be encountering throughout the course of the game. It showed a chase along a highway, with helicopters, cars and bikes on the chase, and snipers in wait on the sidelines.

The game is touted by Ubisoft to have their biggest open world yet, and you will be able to roam the map, which is set in Bolivia, as you see fit. The story for the game was described by Dominic Butler, the lead game designer for {Ghost Recon: Wildlands}: "What if a Mexican drug cartel moves in [to Bolivia], took over the entire country, and effectively turned it into a narco-state."

The gameplay we saw involved a number of ghosts taking out a target, named El Pozolero, who has vital intel. A co-operative team of players then infiltrated a villa and a small town, taking the stealthy approach all the way. Stealth takedowns were shown, as well as drone gameplay, which allows players to scout out huge areas and spot enemies for the rest of the team . Importantly, some vehicular gameplay was also shown, where the players used bikes and pickup trucks to chase their target, taking jumps and going off-road along the way.

Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands is slated for release on March 7.
