Patrick Bach, executive producer at DICE, was on stage to show off Battlefield 4. Their buzzword was Levolution, which promises players the chance dominate battle on air, land and sea. 64 players will be able to fight it out on consoles (previously this number was only available on the PC version of Battlefield 3, much more than the modest amount able to play on Xbox 360 and PS3). Commander mode is also set to make an appearance, after a lengthy absence (and a new treat for console gamers as it's previously only appeared on PC entries in the series).
We saw a gameplay demonstration of Siege of Shanghai, a new level that allows for incredible environmental destruction. The scale of destruction is exemplified by players taking down an entire skyscraper. It looks breathtaking, and was an exciting way of concluding the gameplay demonstration for the anticipated return of the Battlefield series.
