One of Nintendos surprises during their Nintendo Direct last night was to confirm Duck Hunt as a character for Super Smash Bros for Wii U. As you can see, it's a combination of both the dog and duck, and we also got a bunch of new screenshots to go with the announcement.
Super Smash Bros. for Wii U will be released for Wii U (duh!) November 28th. If you want to try out Duck Hunt in advance, he/she is also selectable in Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS. There are two screenshots from that version in the bottom.
Furthermore the original Duck Hunt is also hitting Virtual Console for Wii U.
