A report on Wall Street Journal (subscription required) cites sources close to the situation as saying Disney Interactive are preparing to lay off hundreds of employees. With the division finally profitable after years of problems, thanks to Disney Infinity, this may come as something of a surprise, but apparently it is the casually focused Playdom (picked up for $563 million in 2010) that will suffer the most cuts.
The story also goes on to say that Disney will add Marvel and Star Wars properties to Disney Infinity soon. But will those be part of Disney Infinity or Disney Infinity 2? A job ad spotted by DisneyInfinityFans.com seems to suggest that a sequel could be lined up for a fall 2014 release.
The posting for a temporary game tester position is said to last 4-5 months and "familiarity with Xbox 360, XbOne, PS4, PS3, WiiU a plus". Seeing as it lists next-gen platforms and not the Wii this seems to suggests it's a new game and not just testing of upcoming expansions.
