Demi Vollering becomes the first woman to win multiple Tour de France
Demi Vollering, champion in 2023, defeated Katarzyna Niewiadoma, who won the race in 2024.
Dutch rider Demi Vollering is the first rider to win multiple Tour de France Femmes (a competition created only four years ago): after her crown in 2023, she also took the victory this year, winning the definitive final stage ending the dramatic duel between Vollering and the Polish Katarzyna Niewiadoma, who accused one of Vollering's teammates of blocking her into the barriers during Stage 8, when Niewiadoma lost the leadership by just eight seconds.
In the end, Vollering finished the final stage alone, launching a solo attack on the fourth and final ascent of the Col d'Eze, and arriving in Nice one minute four seconds ahead of the rest of the peloton. The Spaniard Paula Blasi was second and Niewiadoma (who won Tour de France 2024) was third. Vollering adds another major victory, after winning 2026 Giro d'Italia Women and back-to-back La Vuelta Femenina titles in 2024 and 2025.
Speaking to the press, Vollering said she thought about her team, and especially about Celia Gery, the rider accused by the Polish of unsportsmanlike conduct, "who had a really rough night. I thought about all the work I did before this, all the people standing behind me, working together".
