Crytek's principal graphics engineer moves to id Software

Homefront: The Revoluton won't benefit from Sousa's technical expertise in the future.

The troubles at Crytek that has seen Crytek UK staff (Homefront: The Revolution) go unpaid for more than six weeks, and that there is virtually no upper management at the studio anymore.

Via Twitter the former principal graphics engineer at Crytek Tiago Sousa has announced he has joined id Software to work on id Tech 6 and Doom. Sousa who had been an instrumental part of Crytek since back when they created the original Far Cry is joining id Software as lead rendering programmer. You probably recall reports of the id Software's entire engine department leaving the company to jin John Carmack at Oculus VR, well, it looks like id Software has found at least one capable replacement programmer.
