Cory Barlog: "I learned so much from Kojima's games"

The God of War director has nothing but praise for his peer.

God of War is perhaps one of the most important games released this year, earning developer (Santa Monica Studio) a lot of praise, and it turns out that Cory Barlog - who's at the helm of the studio - has great respect and admiration towards one of the most experimental and brilliant video game creatives of our time, Hideo Kojima, creator of Metal Gear Solid.

How do we know this? Well, Barlog, in response to a tweet asking if the cinematic component of his game was inspired by Kojima's works, said he had learned a lot from the Japanese master, having nothing but kind words to share:

"I learned so much from Kojima's games. I remember losing so much sleep binging on MGS2. I was so tired at one point that when the codex conversations started breaking the 4th wall, I literally thought they were talking directly to me. Freaked me out. Master f***ing class."

Do you see a bit of Kojima in God of War?
