After a two year absence, the next chapter in the Assassin's Creed franchise was officially released during Xbox's E3 showcase. The new title, Assassin's Creed Origins, as predicted is set to occur in ancient Egypt and introduces a plethora of new mechanics to the series.

The dynamic trailer showed the latest protagonist scaling the walls of pyramids, wrestling with giant snakes and brawling in coliseum battles. As the name suggest the title takes things back to the origins of the series, allowing you to play as one the first assassins of the Assassins Brotherhood.

Creative Director Guseden then took the stage stating that the title was "3000 years of history and mystery at the tip of your fingers."

Fans were also treated to some pre alpha footage that was shown on the Xbox One X in 4K. The footage showcased new mechanics like being able to command an eagle to tag and eliminate foes and a new RPG-like skills and loot mechanics.

Assassin's Creed Origins is set to release on October 27th for PC, Xbox One and PS4 and you can view the new trailer and gameplay footage below.
