Arc System Works improves Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls PC performance amid player backlash

PC player counts dropped and the review rating fell hard as people found the new fighting game port to be lacking.

When you can actually play it, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls is a pretty fun game, according to a lot of the Steam reviews on Arc System Works' 4v4 tag fighter. The problem is that on PC, getting to play the game can be quite difficult. Performance woes have forced the review rating and player count to drop since launch last week, and yet Arc System Works has been quick on a fix, delivering the first patch to the game yesterday.

According to the patch notes on Steam, this update should fix a lot of PC players' woes with Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. CPU usage has been reduced, sudden performance drops have been remedied, and frame rate drops shouldn't be anywhere near as consistent as they are.

Battle settings, online lobby, and shader bugs have also been fixed. From the looks of fresher reviews on Steam, it seems that this has largely fixed Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls from being unplayable to being the game everyone wanted at launch. "As of August 10th, 2026, the performance issues have been fixed with a 10GB patch, so my vote goes back to Recommended," wrote one reviewer. Already, the game has jumped to a 46% positive review rating on Steam, whereas yesterday it dwindled all the way down to 39%, becoming Mostly Negative.
