Andrew Garfield would return for a new Spider-Man movie, but it has to be weird

"I would need it to be very, very odd. I would need it to be very strange," Garfield said.

As Spider-Man: Brand New Day continues to dominate the box office, it seems the world has caught Spidey fever once more. We're looking for anything and everything Spider-Man related, which means of course Andrew Garfield has been asked once more if he'd come back for another run at his version of Peter Parker.

Speaking to The Playlist, Garfield seemed quite non-committal at first. "I don't know. I really don't know," he said, before adding that if he was going to throw himself back in some red and blue spandex, he'd need the film to offer him something completely different from your average Spider-Man flick.

"I would need it to be very, very odd. I would need it to be very strange, and I would need it to be completely unconventional and almost—I wouldn't say boring—but I would want it to be just completely unexpected, like a genre of Spider-Man that you've never seen before, that feels very left field. I don't even know what that would be. Maybe like a road trip movie," he said.

That road trip idea is something that would definitely be different from past Spidey adventures. We're not sure how much web-swinging you'd be able to do on the open road, but that's not up to us to figure out.

After reappearing as The Amazing Spider-Man in 2021's Spider-Man: No Way Home, fans immediately wanted to see more of Garfield back in the spider-suit. Whether we'll ever get to see him back for his own solo movie is unknown, but there's clearly a demand for it.
