Aliens vs. Predator screens

Our impressions of the multiplayer
Bengt Lemne 28 October 2009

We recently had a chance to try some of the multiplayer modes on offer in Rebellion's upcoming Aliens vs. Predator. We played a bit of Infestation a game mode where a couple of players start out as aliens with the others playing as marines. The objective for the aliens is obvious - kill the marines. When a marine dies he is reborn an alien and the hunted becomes the hunter. The longer you can last as a marine the more bonus you earn.

The other multiplayer mode we tried was Predator Hunt. The game mode saw five marines facing one predator. With the obvious stealth and long range advantage the predator was able to stalk his prey and pounce when an opportunity arouse. In order to press the action somewhat there is a timer that counts down when you are the predator, it gets a 60 second extension with every marine killed. Obviously if the predator gets killed the marine who iced him is respawned as the predator. The mode had some very interesting dynamics and showcased how nicely the strengths and weaknesses of the three playable races compliment each other.
