Kotaku has learnt from Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford that Aliens: Colonial Marines is still in development and that it will arrive next year. Apparently there is also a Nintendo DS in the works.
When Gamereactor approached Sega representatives about the status both Aliens: Colonial Marines and the as of yet untitled Aliens RPG from Obsidian Entertainment we were told the games were still coming, but that Sega focused their attention at E3 on the Aliens title closest to release - Aliens vs Predator from Rebellion.
"Aliens: Colonial Marines fails to alter any of our preconceived notions about licensed video games."
And judging by reviews, he's done a pretty good job at it.
Gearbox lost a ton of money on commercial failure.
Update: They're back.
