Alan Wake 2 has now become a 3 million seller

Remedy Entertainment has shared a new financial report wherein the Finnish video game developer has issued an update on the lifetime sales of Alan Wake 2.

Following launching in late 2023 to critical acclaim (which was ultimately scuppered by Baldur's Gate III's dominance), Remedy was always confident the project would have a slow burn effect, consistently selling copies as the years rolled by. This became even more of a successful gamble when it was confirmed the project had recouped its development costs and was now simply generating revenue for the studio.

Building on this, Remedy has now confirmed Alan Wake 2 has sold over three million copies, with the milestone overcome during the second quarter of this year. The Finnish developer added to this by explaining other games in the Alan Wake franchise "sold at a normal back-catalogue pace."

This all means Alan Wake 2 is averaging just over one million copies sold a year at the moment, which no doubt bodes well for the game's continued performance in the years ahead, and perhaps even as soon as this September, as the fans flocking to Control Resonant may find themselves encouraged to give Alan Wake 2 a go as a result.
