A potential Octopath Traveler III is "going to push the limits"
The show's producer has taken note of the fans' wishes and hopes, and is asking them to keep an eye out for the next project.
Last year, Octopath Traveler 0 was released, a PC and console version of the mobile title Octopath Traveler: Champions of the Continent, which received some pretty good reviews. But what fans are hoping for is a true third instalment in the series, and this is something the developers are well aware of.
In an interview with Dengeki Online (thanks, Automaton), producer Tomoya Asano says:
"We genuinely feel [the fans' expectations]; I just wanted to convey that."
Unfortunately, he can't announce anything new at this time, but he explains that the team can't do anything half-heartedly because the series is so beloved. He adds that "if we're going to do it, we're going to push the limits." It therefore seems that a potential Octopath Traveler III will have a significantly higher level of ambition, and he concludes on a hopeful note by asking fans to "keep looking forward to what comes next."
