One of the announcements at the Atari Live event today was that Chris Gas Powered Games' and Stardock's upcoming game Demigod will be distributed in Europe and Asia by Atari in the spring of 2009. Here's an assortment of happy quotes from the press release (and some new originally gigantic screens):

"Chris Taylor's team at Gas Powered Games are creating something very original and exciting in Demigod which expands the possibilities of PC strategy gaming," said David Gardner, CEO of Infogrames, the parent company of Atari. "This agreement with Stardock brings a great addition to our 2009 line up as we head into the next phase of growing our distribution business."

"We're thrilled to be partnering with a publisher of Atari's calibre to help bring Demigod to Europe and Asia," said Brian Clair, Director of Publishing for Stardock Entertainment. "Atari's expertise in retail distribution will ensure that gamers around the world are able to play Demigod next spring."

"We are very excited that Atari has chosen to distribute Demigod and be our key partner in Europe," said Chris Taylor, CEO and Founder, Gas Powered Games. "Atari has an outstanding team and renewed energy, and we know we are in great hands."
