Blizzard Entertainment have announced the details for the official midnight launches of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King worldwide.

In the United States there will be four official launch events in New York, San Francisco, Anaheim, and Austin. There will also be midnight launch events in Paris, London, Berlin, Madrid, Stockholm, Amsterdam, Mexico City, Taipei, and Seoul. All of these events will include developers signing copies of the game.

"We've been looking forward to these launch events all year," said Mike Morhaime, CEO and cofounder of Blizzard Entertainment. "This is one of the few opportunities we get to meet with players in person, and we can't wait to celebrate the release of Wrath of the Lich King with them."

The UK launch event at HMV on Oxford Street will feature COO Paul Sams and associate producer Lee Sparks, while the Stockholm launch event at Webhallen will feature producer Rob Foote.

A few numbers for reference: The Burning Crusade sold 2.4 million copies within 24 hours of availability with 3.5 million shifted in the first month. There are currently 11 million active WoW players worldwide.
