We caught up with game director Matt Firor for an update on The Elder Scrolls Online, and the Dark Brotherhood expansion and the One Tamriel ("a game changer", "the world will level you to the content") update. The game has to date had 7 million players, a considerable feat especially given the shaky start.
"We launched on PC, and then we got a lot of feedback saying that the game needed a lot more options, a lot more Elder Scrolls," says Firor. "And so we spent the next two years, basically, putting in new features that would make players more comfortable with the world, and make it feel little more freedom, a little more exploration."
Firor also talked about the road map ahead and the possibility of adding VR support.
"In the first quarter of 2017 we're going to add a housing system, which is a very big thing, it will be really cool," says Firor.
"We're starting to play around with [VR], but it's going to be a while until you see any Elder Scrolls Online VR."
