It was announced by series creator Masahiro Sakurai during a mini-Nintendo Direct this afternoon. The characters are already available for purchase at €3.99 each (if purchased individually) or at €4.99 each (if you buy for both consoles).

Alongside the new characters several new costumes have also been added, like Mega Man Exe and Zero; Mega Man X and Animal Crossing; costumes inspired by Inkling from Splatoon, and also costumes inspired by Jacky and Akira from Virtua Fighter. For this content, the estimated cost is €0.79 (or €1.19 if you buy them for both 3DS and Wii U).

In addition to this, Nintendo has added four new battle arenas: Dream Land from Kirby's N64 outing, Hyrule Castle, the Castle of Peach, and a Miiverse stage, all of which will be free. In addition, with the new update for the game, you can now publish your own video on YouTube.
