EA are obviously placing a lot of faith in Battlefield: Hardline, a fact exemplified by the fact that the game closed out the publisher's Gamescom conference. During the outro we got to see two different gameplay trailers for the cops and robbers shooter.
The first was the extended look at the game's single-player story (which reminded us a little of Far Cry-like storytelling), and the second gave us a closer look at the Rescue multiplayer mode.
With regards to the second trailer, Rescue is one of two new Hardline-only multiplayer modes on display at this year's Gamescom. Rescue sounds similar to Counter-Strike, in that each player will have one life. The other mode - Hotwire - was "all about the thrill of the chase", with the emphasis on players leaning out of car windows and shooting the crap out of each other during chase sequences.
While Battlefield: Hardline is one of the many games that has recently been pushed back into 2015, a a second beta is planned for sometime later this year.
