Payday 2 lead designer David Goldfarb has left Overkill Software and Starbreeze Studios to set up his own indie studio in Stockholm, Sweden reports Polygon. Goldfarb who left DICE (having served as lead designer on Battlefield 3) to join the Payday studio two years ago commented that he's leaving on good terms:

"It's all on good terms and I think they're well positioned to succeed as the last Steam sale seems to indicate. They're doing just fine. It's just one of those things where I've been making games for a long time."

Goldfarb also made it official on his Twitter:

"Making the move to do something new. More on this as it develops. Thanks for all the support! #HereWeGo"
