Funcom to cut staff

The Secret World delayed
Petter Mårtensson 29 September 2009

Due to an internal reorganization, brought on by a need to cut cost and an attempt to shift most of their workforce to Quebec, Funcom have said that they'll be laying off around 20% of their employees. Because of this, The Secret World, their upcoming MMO, will be delayed for "several months" according to Gamesindustry.biz.

In general, it is much cheaper for a games company to operate out of Canada than Norway, with Quebec offering a 37.5% salary reimbursement which would mean that Funcom could cut a lot of their current salary costs.
