Sega on Aliens save issues

Gamers losing progress and save data.
Mike Holmes 18 February 2013

Some unfortunate gamers appear to be having problems with their save games on newly purchased copies of Aliens: Colonial Marines.

Despite a lukewarm critical reception (and that's putting it mildly) the game shot to number one in the charts this week, and some of those who helped put the long-awaited sci-fi shooter in that position are now having to restart the game after save files were deleted and progress in the game was lost.

Sega posted on their customer service desk that they're aware of the problem, and and suggest gamers delete the game from their hard-drive and play it directly from the disc until a solution can be found.
