Just before summer, we reported on Nintendo's plans to expand its brand into a new and absolutely massive market: India. It's currently the world's largest country and is estimated to be home to around 1.5 billion people.
For India, the focus was primarily on the original Switch, but today the company announced it wants to enter yet another massive market. This time, it's Indonesia, often referred to as the world's largest Muslim-majority country with a population of nearly 300 million people.
Without specifying any strategies or goals in detail, both the Switch and Switch 2 will be released there in December 2026, potentially making it easier for the original Switch to surpass the PlayStation 2 as the best-selling console of all-time.
