Tour de France Femmes is ending today, Sunday, in Nice, starting at 16:05, with the Dutch rider Demi Vollering from FDJ United-SUEZ leading, just eight seconds ahead of the Polish Katarzyna Niewiadoma-Phinney from Canyon-SRAM. Vollering, who won Tour de France in 2023, and recently won Giro Italia this year, claimed the leader yellow jersey from Niewiadoma, who had won the prior stage and was leading the race by nine seconds.

The Polish player complained of unsportsmanlike behaviour from Vollering's teammate Célia Gery, accusing her of blocking her on the final climb of stage 8 on Saturday, almost pushing her into the barrier.

An angry Niewiadoma confronted Gery at the finish line, asking her why did she close her to the barriers, while Vollering and Gery's team FDJ denied any intention of wrongdoing and that if her move was dangerous was accidental.

Speaking to the press, Niewiadoma said she Gery blocked her on purpose. "They should compete fair play and not look to block me into the barriers, because I felt like it is so childish and honestly I lost all respect for them for that" (via CyclingNews).
