Cat clans and adventures await in Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest

The developers promise we'll get to meet "iconic cats from the Warrior Cats universe as you experience untold stories."

Cats and the internet have always been a perfect match, and every year, countless titles featuring kitties in the lead roles are released. Many of them, however, are shovelware, but we can't accuse Warrior Cats: Clans of the Forest of anything like that.

It's a turn-based role-playing game that was just announced for PC, PlayStation 5, Switch, Switch 2, and Xbox Series S/X. As the name suggests, it's based on the Warrior Cats children's book series, and you'll get to choose which of the four clans you want to join: "the courageous ThunderClan, the graceful RiverClan, the cunning ShadowClan, or the swift WindClan."

Each clan has its own campaign, and the game promises encounters with characters (cat-acters?) that are entirely new to the universe. Check out the first trailer below, and further down you can also read the developers' description of their adventure:

"Travel across iconic territories including ThunderClan's dense forests, RiverClan's marshlands, ShadowClan's dark pine swamps, and WindClan's open moors. Climb trees, pounce through undergrowth, track scents, solve environmental puzzles, and uncover the mysteries of StarClan itself.

"Customize your cat with unique appearances, accessories, attack moves, and den decorations while building your reputation within the Clan. Encounter original characters alongside iconic cats from the Warrior Cats universe as you experience untold stories."
