Console Witcher on hold

Rise and Fall of the White Wolf?
Bengt Lemne 30 April 2009

French development partner Widescreen Games have sent out a press release confirming that the development of Atari's and CD Projekt Red's console version of the popular RPG The Witcher has been frozen. Citing financial problem that needs to be resolved the French developer is now focusing on other projects. Hopefully these problems can be fixed, but it is never a good sign that development stops. Here is a quote from the press release:

"We regret this measure, particularly on behalf of the fans who were impatiently awaiting the release of the game. I hope that we can find an amicable solution with our present and former partners involved in this ambitious project," commented Olivier Masclef, manager at Widescreen Games."

Below is a presentation from the Atari Live event last December of the game.
