Valve has just confirmed the best-selling (standard and VR) and most played games on Steam so far in 2018, and our collective spending and playing habits make for interesting reading - if you're into that sort of thing, of course.
Notable among the top-sellers is Jurassic World Evolution, which makes the top bracket (called Platinum - catchy) despite only launching less than a month ago. Frontier will no doubt be rather pleased about that. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 is also doing the business for Fatshark, and it's no surprise to see Far Cry 5 and Kingdom Come: Deliverance also among 2018's big hitters.
On top of the latest games, there are a number of older titles that have continued to outsell more recent releases. Dota 2 and Warframe are both free-to-play but have clearly shifted enough DLC packs to warrant a platinum place, whereas the likes of Rocket League, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rainbow Six: Siege, Grand Theft Auto V and Civilization VI continue to do good business for their respective publishers.
