The awards handed out by the Independent Games Festival (IGF) during GDC in March are perhaps the most coveted in the indie world. Previous grand prize winners include Minecraft, Fez, Papers, Please, and Her Story. This year sees multiple nominations (a good indication of a potential winner) for Night in the Woods, Getting Over It with Bennett Foddy, Into the Breach, and Baba is You. West of Loathing and Heat Signature are also nominated for the Seumas McNally Grand Prize. Cuphead isn't getting the same sort of love as it has gotten in the Game of the Year awards handed out by media, but nabbed nominations for excellence in Visual Art and Audio. It should be noted that games don't need to be finished and released in order to qualify for this award, which makes it a bit different than your typical video game awards.
