Overwatch entered open beta yesterday, meaning everyone on both consoles and PC can have a go, provided they download it. The game's release is also just around the corner, and apparently the stuff in the open beta is more or less the same content you'll be getting in the full game, aside from a few balance changes and bug fixes, of course.
Overwatch's game director, Jeff Kaplan, confirmed this on the official forums, writing: "The version you are playing now is what will go live at launch (there will be some bug fixes etc...). We also have Competitive Play, which was a feature that was live in Closed Beta. We removed it from Open Beta because we received a ton of great feedback on how to improve the system.
"We're also working on a TON of post-launch features and content. It's going to be a pretty amazing summer..."
Overwatch will officially release on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on May 24. The open beta will end on May 9, but it's currently available to everyone via the respective platform storefronts for free.
