We're currently playing Kirby and the Rainbow Paintbrush so we can provide you with a review well in time for its upcoming launch for Wii U on May 8. Meanwhile, we can share in advance a couple of illustrative gameplay clips captured from the European build of the game.

The clips show how Nintendo DS Kirby Power Paintbrush's original concept has changed both visually (it's reminiscent of claymation now) and gameplay-wise:

Solo gameplay
We play a couple of levels from the new Wii U platformer by drawing a rainbow clay path for Kirby on the GamePad. In the process, we learn what happens if you cut off a waterfall stream in which there were a bunch of swimming fish.

Co-op gameplay
With this gameplay clip, which includes both a boss battle and a desert level, you can learn how dual-screen co-op mode works in Rainbow Paintbrush, as Kirby draws his way on the GamePad and Waddle Dee plays as a traditional platformer.
