After a modest port on iOS, Dragon Quest VIII is getting ready for its highly requested Nintendo 3DS release. The recently announced return of this legendary RPG, featuring character designs by Akira Toriyama, comes with new content and features, all in double-screen handheld form.
The Journey of the Cursed King is now getting an orchestrated soundtrack by the Tokyo Metropolitan Symphony Orchestra, a new party member called Gerda, more scenarios and new missions. The game will also get a Season Pass for additional content, but what that'll be is still unknown. Its launch is planned for August 27 in Japan, and it could actually be adapted to European markets, as the original was the very first Dragon Quest localised for the West.
