We recently had to chance to catch up with Larian Studios creative director Swen Vincke, and the studio founder spent some time telling us about how the studio are getting on with the regards to the ongoing development of Divinity: Original Sin II.
Here's what Vincke had to say about the features from the first game that are making the transition to the sequel:
"The three things that I'm trying to keep from Original Sin 1 was that the pen and paper freedom that you got. Obviously we want to evolve the combat system that we had. And then we want to do more things with mulitplayer, because like one third of players in Original Sin 1 were playing in multiplayer modes, so we are trying to increase that number by giving them even more options of playing, like we have the Game Master mode coming up also."
Vincke also elaborated on the reason why they're not planning on launching Original Sin II on consoles until after they've stabilised the game on PC:
"There's so much systems that we're putting together, so much stuff that we're trying out, new things that you haven't seen before in CRPGs before... if we release on console it will be once it's stabilised."
