Divinity: Original Sin II getting Game Master Mode

It's like a table top game.
Sam Bishop 10 May 2017

Larian Studios has announced that Divinity: Original Sin II will be getting a Game Master Mode, which is pretty much the equivalent of a virtual table top game similar to Dungeons & Dragons.

The game starts with a map, and then the Game Master adds locations, much like a board, and workshop support will also be launched for this feature on release, meaning that mods can be used to make your own levels. From then you go on a journey with a party, much like the main game, with text boxes popping up to push the story along from time to time.

Below you can see some gameplay from the mode, as well as some screenshots. Does this look like a meaningful addition to the game?
