To call the development of Prey 2 troublesome is an understatement. The original developer Human Head had a playable game 2008 but was late with the milestones on several occasions and Bethesda got tired of funding it and 2012 it was announced that the studio had been removed from the game.
After that, Prey 2 ended up in a limbo where Bethesda didn't want to cancel the game outright, but no new developer was being announced. But now, two years later, Bethesda vice president Pete Hines says:
"It was game we believed in, but we never felt that it got to where it needed to be - we never saw a path to success if we finished it.
It wasn't up to our quality standard and we decided to cancel it. It's no longer in development. That wasn't an easy decision, but it's one that won't surprise many folks given that we hadn't been talking about it."
That means we are never going to play Human Head's Prey 2. Here's a couple of the game that never will be released.
