Anno fans will get the chance to play Anno 1800 ahead of the release date of April 16 in an open beta, which is coming next weekend - between April 12 and 14 - so that anyone can come in and try the new strategy game and get a taste for the series' formula.

A new trailer has just landed for the game ahead of the beta, giving a CGI look at the world Blue Byte and Ubisoft have created, which sees many features returning as well, including individual AI enemies, shippable trade goods, multi-session gameplay, and randomly generated maps too.

If you pre-order the game you'll get the Imperial Pack containing extra content, although Digital Deluxe and Pioneer Edition owners have access to ever more exclusive content, like the Anarchist character.

Has this trailer got you wanting to play Anno 1800?
