Microsoft have confirmed that Age of Empires Online, now in development at Gas Powered Games, will launch this fall as a free-to-play game on PC. There will also be a boxed version that comes with a level 20 civilisation and unique bonus content.
While the core game will be free to download and play along with the first few civilisations (Greek and Egypt), there will be additional game modes, upgrades and civilisations to purchase for those who wish to do so.
