The video adresses problems encountered while trying to develop a ranked play system. Kaplan gives insight into the development team's process in this element of the game as well as the different issues that arise due to their being two distinct groups of players, those that want to play at a high competitive level and those that want a ranked system as a form of progression.

Kaplan also spoke about how the matchmaking system in the game works in terms of trying to create a solid balance between each team and the difficulties that arise from their hero switching system. However, Blizzard doesn't have a firm design in place for exactly how it's going to work.

Overwatch is set to release later this year on PC, PS4 and Xbox One.
