A recent report by Deadline has stated that MGM has already purchased the rights to the book proposal The Antisocial Network by author Ben Mezrich, set to detail the recent events of Reddit, GameStop shares and the fight against Wall Street. The deal is set to be bringing Mezrich and MGM's Michael DeLuca back together after previous success with The Accidental Billionaires: The Founding Of Facebook, a Tale Of Sex, Money, Genius and Betrayal, or as we know its movie adaptation, The Social Network.
The book proposal is set to focus on the group of amateur investors and gamers who faced down Wall Street and brought it to its knees. According to the report by Deadline, the proposal of the book was only taken onto the market late last week, before MGM swooped in and claimed it for themselves.
Considering this is still very, very early on in the movie's development, no director or cast members are currently assigned, in fact, we know very little as to where the story of the book will conclude itself, as events continue to develop in real-time.
