The UK-based developer Sumo Digital has announced the tenth studio joining the Sumo Group family to be Polish developer PixelAnt. Founded in 2020, PixelAnt will join the Sumo Digital pool of talent as its first European mainland studio, and will remain under the leadership of Pawel Rohleder and Adam LasoĊ, two veterans of the Polish videogames industry.
"We're incredibly excited by the opportunities that being part of the Sumo family offers to PixelAnt," said Rohleder in a press release. "Sumo has demonstrated a proven commitment to each of its studios to give them what they need to make incredible games and hire the best people. We have very ambitious plans in place, and we know that Sumo is going to support us every step of the way."
Sumo Digital has worked on a plethora of games over the last few years, with the most notable recent one being Sackboy: A Big Adventure. In the coming months, Sumo Digital is also set to be releasing Hood: Outlaws and Legends.
Managing director at Sumo Digital Gary Dunn spoke on the acquisition, saying: "As a full-service studio, PixelAnt will provide game development services to clients across the world, as well as own-IP opportunities, and will continue to work on Sumo projects. A huge welcome to the team in Wroclaw!"
