RETAIL AND DIGITAL RELEASES

It's the last big push for the winter releases this week. Party kicks off early tomorrow with the release of Assassin's Creed: Revelations. The third (and reportedly final) adventure of Ezio brings back the taste of assassinations back into the multiplayer arena this fall.

But Ubisoft's killer isn't the only returning hero this week. Microsoft re-release of the original Halo, in the form of the 10th Anniversary Edition, hits shelves tomorrow as well. We're intrigued to see how the game not only does in the charts, but how its multiplayer map pack release on Xbox Live stimulates the Reach community.

Friday sees Lego Harry Potter Years 5-7 released, and Travellers' Tales will be its own competition for the weeks ahead, given Lego Pirates is still riding high on the retail seas since launch earlier this year.

The day also sees the battle of the bling as EA and THQ square off with tales from the other side of the law with Need for Speed: The Run and Saints Row: The Third, and Capcom has its own scrap with Marvel in Ultimate Marvel Vs Capcom 3.

Nintendo tie up the last big-name releases with two little known titles: Super Mario 3D Land and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword.

Along with reviews of the biggest titles out this week, we'll be marking the 10th Anniversary of Halo come tomorrow with a feature that looks back over the franchise's impact the past decade, while we continue our look to the future in our 2012's Most Wanted come Wednesday, and spice up proceedings with one of the longest-running series in gaming.

We talk to Battlefield 3's composers later in the week about scoring the FPS, while our weekend double-bill of Gaming Weekender (plus bonus burning question of the week!) and Defining Moment rounds off a week full of all your latest news, previews and much more.
